Nature Education Activities

The programs available are designed to meet the needs of your group. Field trips are offered all year for schools, 4H groups, boy and girl scout troops, and families doing homeschooling and remote learning. Open Nature Center(Lower Level)  Hours

April – October, 2024  Hours – Sundays, 1-4pm

A volunteer will be available to answer questions about the animals and exhibits in the nature center.    All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Donations appreciated.   Additional Open Nature Center hours available by appointment.   Email:  alleyparkoe@yahoo.com  or Call:  740-681-5025 

Upcoming Outdoor Education Programming:

April 3rd – Special Eclipse Program at Olivedale Park, 10-11am  

April 20th – Seeds of Change (Earth Day/Arbor Day Program) held at Rising Park, 10a-noon.                 Free Event for all ages.   Give Aways and information from local community partners.

April 21st – Exploring Our Parks Series – 2-4pm.  Meet by the playground at Rising Park to                learn about the perils of the outdoors (ticks, poisonous plants, etc…) and to help clean up               the park.  

May 19th – Exploring Our Parks Series – 2-4pm.   Meet at Keller Kirn Park for a Wildflower Hike

June 3-6 – Evening Archery Camp for ages 8-15  (Register online)

June 10-13 – Morning and Archery Camps (Register online)

June 15th – Youth Fishing Derby (Registration available May 10th) 

Summer Nature Camps for Ages 6-14 – June & July (Register online)
